About Me

Background & Bio
Lynn Yee

I have been in full-time missions since 1999 with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Southeast Asia and in Europe. In 2009, I was sent out as a Singaporean missionary to Europe, and have been based in Scotland and England, working in the areas of prophetic and intercessory prayer ministries, spiritual formation and discipleship training.

Having lived in Scotland for 5 years, I was exposed to Celtic Christianity and Ignatian Spirituality, and there I discovered the gifts of spiritual direction and contemplation back in 2012. Moving from metropolitan Singapore to the Scottish countryside where the sun sets at 2:30pm in the winter, I began to long for a deeper spirituality that goes beyond ministry vision, goals, events and activities. Surely there has got to be more to the Christian life than endless Christian meetings and service?

Where is God when life hurts? What is God doing in those spiritually dry and dark seasons of my life when I feel that the sun has set on me at 2:30pm? What do I do with the tension of unanswered prayer? Is my faith deep enough to contain the mystery of God, where I can trust Him even if I don't get the answers I want? Why is Christian life and ministry, as I know it, not fulfilling the deeper cries of my soul?

When I began asking these deeper questions that couldn't be answered by my praying harder, working harder, doing more spiritual disciplines or more ministry works, the Lord began to take me on a deeper spiritual journey as a sojourning missionary in Europe. Over the years, I was led to receive training in Ignatian Spirituality, Spiritual Direction and subsequently, higher education in pursuing my Master's and Doctoral degrees.

In 2017, I finished my training as a spiritual director with SPIDIR in south London, and started practising as a spiritual director 2 years later when I registered with the Diocese of St Albans for supervision.

In 2018, I finished my M.A. in Christian Formation & Discipleship with the University of the Nations (Switzerland).

During the pandemic in 2020, I started a new role as the Prayer & Retreats Coordinator at All Nations Christian College in East Hertfordshire, U.K., where I run intercessory prayer courses and contemplative retreats open to the public.

In 2024, I started my Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree in Spiritual Formation & Soul Care with Talbot School of Theology, Biola University, and I am currently working on this degree while continuing in ministry.

I am passionate about creating 'sacred spaces' for others to cultivate a deeper awareness of God's presence in their lives through various ministry platforms like prayer, retreats, spiritual direction, worship-leading, teaching and preaching.
